Cristal Harrill is pictured with the winners of "The Tellico Plains High School Student Literary Exhibition" contest. The Student Literary Exhibition project encourages students' awareness and appreciation of their history and heritage. Students interviewed older family members for the purpose of compiling a true, historical fiction short story, or poem. Sponsored by the Charles Hall Museum and displayed at the museum during the Cherohala Skyway Festival held at the museum, October 26. The Hall museum awarded each winner a $50 check and certificate.
On Monday, November 4, Senior Forrest Atkins signed with TN Wesleyan University's Golf Team. He is a four-year player on the TPHS Golf Team who has attended two State Golf Tournaments. The TPHS National Beta Club recently donated $750.00 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and its fight against childhood diseases, especially cancer. Houston Davis, interpreter at TPHS, received the check on behalf of St. Jude. Davis participates in 5K's and half marathons for St. Jude. Congratulations to Forrest Atkins for qualifying for the TN State Golf Tournament that is to be held on October 7 and 8. Atkins shot an 80 in the Regional Golf Tournament and finished in the top three. Seniors Cal Moser and Jake Tallent and Sophomore Maddie Dodson also participated in regional play.

The River Valley AgCredit recently donated $6,000 to the TPHS FFA program. RVAC donated a total of $132,000 in special gifts to 22 FFA chapters in its service areas in western Kentucky and eastern Tennessee.
