Educator Bio:
I am a graduate of Tellico Plains High School, Class of 1987. I have been a math teacher at TPHS since 1991. I enjoy listening to 80's music, watching "Chicago Fire, Med, & PD", and sitting around a fire pit 🔥 on a quiet evening. There is just something about a hotdog on a stick!!!
Growing up, I did not always want to be a math teacher. My big dream was to become a forest ranger. I truly believed that a forest ranger basically spent most of their time riding around the mountains and that idea sounded like a dream job.
But after researching this noble career, I was informed that one of the major task of a forest ranger was to put out forest fires with a shovel shovel. This information quickly changed my mind about becoming a forest ranger. So, I decided that since I was good at math that I would study to become a math teacher. Little did I know that as a math teacher, there are days where I actually do put out little fires, except minus the shovel.

For Students:
If you want to do well in class, here are a few suggestions:
1.  Ask questions.
2.  Do your homework.
3.  Study (This is NOT ELEMENTARY MATH after all!)
4.  Be here!

Remember Geometry & Algebra 2 are both challenging classes.  Every day you are not here is a day of missed notes, examples and missed assignments. If you do miss, it is up to you to find out what you missed. Be responsible! You need to stay plugged into McGraw Hill textbook/Google Classroom online to stay up to date on assignments that are due.
